Perennial Gardening in the Shade
- February 24, 08 from 10:00 am – 12 noon
*This class is part of the Garden Blitz held February 23 and 24*
Cindy will illustrate practical ideas on how to plan, plant and maintain perennials for a variety of conditions found in shade gardens. A discussion of design using color and textural qualities as well as incorporating native plants will help gardeners create a garden that is a delight to the eye.
Basic Gardening Techniques
– (5 weeks) March 20, 27; April 3, 10, 17 from 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm
An intensive, interactive course that will acquaint gardeners with the fundamentals of home gardening. Topics to be discussed include basic landscape design, plant needs for healthy growth, soils, planting and maintenance. Plant groups and their function in design as well as styles of gardening will also be covered. Bring your home gardening questions!
Native Plants for Rain Gardens and Wet Areas
– April 21, 08 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm
Rain gardens are ecologically sound solutions to help with erosion, storm water runoff or to aid in water absorption by planting wet areas within a landscape. In addition, learn aboutbioswales and bog gardens. These water loving plants solve what to plant and give you an alternative to expensive drainage systems.
